WELCOME TO TAWANG |
HELLO THERE MY FELLOW READERS….
Finally after a long and hectic day I accumulated some time to make this blog where I can share my travel experiences again with all of you. The place i have visited is Tawang, in Arunachal Pradesh and this place is a different beauty. This place is a dangerous beauty. While I visited this place only thing I was thinking is beauty is not always sweet but can be rough aswell. I saw the perfect rough patch of beauty through this trip.

First of all guys if you are planning to go for Tawang trip let me tell you honestly may be you like snow but trust me Tawang is best without snow if you wanna enjoy Tawang you gotta go there during october best month to visit Tawang.
We started our journey from Guwahati and we stayed there for a night to take a night off. The very next morning we left our hotel sharp at 9am after having breakfast. We went to Bomdila our very first stopage for this journey.
Bomdila is a very quiet place with a lot of natural beauty. The place where we stayed was a lil higher than the main Bomdila district. It was on the top of the sloping hill. beside our hotel there was a military residence. We halted there for one night. It was almost midnight when we reached there it was a long first day journey the roads were undescribable it took almost 8hours to reach to our destiny. It was long but we enjoyed a lot. The next morning we left the hotel after having our first day meal to go for Tawang.
If in one line I had to describe Tawang it will be "the Land of monasteries and Lord Buddha statues".
Tawang is a small town situated in the elevation of approx 3,048metres east of Bhutan with a very minimum population of only 50,000. The area is claimed by both People's Republic of China and the Republic of India as a part of south Tibet. That is why there are a lot of military people roaming around in there. Its an absolutely safe place. When we reached the Tawang gate there was a small check there so you to carry a permit from India to visit Tawang without that permit letter nobody will be allowed to go in there.
After this long journey we finally reached Tawang.
That day we went for a small food spree becuase Tawang is well known for its Tibetian-Momo and Thukpa the main cuisines up there. It was 1 degrees when we reached Tawang. It was freezing cold but when enjoyed the hot sizzling food in that chilling weather.
It was so tasty if you dont try out for yourself you wont be able to feel it. That day passed by searching the best Tibetian momo and hanging out a lil in the local areas. The very next day we went to Sela pass. I was speechless when I reached there the view the weather everything was perfect. Its a little tip as its very high its aroung 13,000ft so people who have breathing problems please ensure your own health safety we carried camphor with us in a handkerchief so whenever any body was having breathing issues, smelling that camphor was helping a lot.

SELA PASS |
We went to Tawang in the very best time as I already said "October is the best time to visit Tawang". We didnt get any snow up there it was clean and cleaar so we could enjoy the whole view, but we also saw the snowfall up there. We got to see a clear view of the lake which was like a mirror so clean and so beautiful. After that we came back down at that very moment as it started snowing and it was becoming a risk to stay up there for long. As we had senior peoples with us. But never the less we enjoyed a lot. After coming back we had our brunches at the hotel and then headed to a Tawang monastery.
TAWANG MONASTERY |
The monastery was so beautiful and quiet. It was so peaceful you can also hear your breathing. It was a pin-drop-silence. We sat there for a while and prayed. It was a two floored temple and we were allowed to go to the second floor. There was a candle on the second floor, when we asked them about that candle the monks said "that candle is always lighted up it never estinguishes" they maintain that candle daily by adding butter in it. It was a great feeling up there as well it wasnt too lighted up nor too dark it was cool calm and perfect.
Then we came out of the buddha temple and went back to hotel ending the first whole day trip of Tawang.
Here I will end today. The rest of my Tawang journey and many other places of this Arunachal Pradesh are yet to come. Hope you liked it as for now.
Stay tuned to my blog to know the rest of my Arunachal Pradesh journey.
